directions

  • Combine Olive Oil, Old Bay, Lime and Lemon Juice.
  • Mix Well.
  • Pour over Tuna Steaks and marinade 20 minutes, turning occasionally.
  • Make sure grill is hot – place steaks in hottest section and Sear steaks 1 to 2 minutes per side to seal in the juices.
  • Finish cooking just slightly away from the hottest area – 8 to 10 minutes per inch of thickness.
  • My husband likes extra Old Bay on his steak so he sprinkles extra on before cooking and we also like to squeeze fresh lemon over our tuna before we eat it.
  • ENJOY!

  1. This was absolutely wonderful tuna. We used YellowFin Tuna Steaks, (I don't recommend Albacore) and I couldn't believe how good they were. If I didn't know I was eating tuna, I'd swear it was steak. I do believe like some of the reviews that it was a bit salty, but I think it was because the Old Bay may have been a bit older than normal shelf-life. I will tell anyone who wants to enjoy a really good tuna, don't overcook it. It needs to be dark pink inside for it to be tender & flavorful. Thanks for posting!!!

  2. Excellent! I pan seared mine in a little butter (and cast iron) and cooked until they were just pink through the middle half.

  3. REALLY? How could something so basic be so good? I made this tonight and was blown away by how good it was. I didn't have lime so I used all lemon, other than that, no changes. I seared the tuna on the hot side of a gas grill, then moved it to indirect heat to finish it up. I cooked it rare and it was delicious.

  4. Ahi cooked that long tastes like canned tuna to me. Two minutes per side and that's it. I didn't have old bay or celery salt so I used italian seasoning and garlic salt. Wonderful.

  5. This was good. Definitely only 2 tsp of old bay, and if you use ahi tuna, only cook a minute or so to sear on the outside. I used half olive oil and half sesame oil. Ahi should be served rare. I haven't tried any other kind of tuna steak. Maybe 10 minutes per side would be okay.

Tweaks

  1. Only thing is, I found it a bit salty, so will hold back some of the Old Bay, and was a bit overcooked for me. I did 2 minutes on each side to sear it and then 4 minutes per side (8 in total) to finish. Nex time will cook for only 3 to finish. Still tender and delicious! Thank you.

  2. Seasoning.
