Ham and Cheese Patties

"I love Recipe #137575 and I really love ham and cheese sandwiches, so I thought why not try to combine the two. This is what I came up with. Thank you Chef Dari Donovan for inspiring me. Submitted on June 13th, 2006."

  • Heat oil over medium heat, in a non-stick skillet large enough to fry all patties at one time (may do 2 patties at a time to turn more easily).

  • Fry until golden brown, about 6 minutes on each side.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

  1. Followed recipe, did not hold together. The flavor was good. Would have been a good breakfast pattie.

  2. Although I love garlic, I'm not sure I have had it on ham before, but the seasoning on this was very good. Smelled so great that one DS came to see what I was cooking. The ham I used was actually a little too salty, but somehow that taste was well reduced in this recipe. I tried to minimize the carbs by substituting a half cup of finely crushed pork rinds for the flour and cornmeal, and I chilled the mixture for a while before trying to shape into patties, but the patties did not hold together well for me with this substitution. Next time I'll probably try adding another egg (or at least a white) as well. Thanks for sharing.
