ingredients
- 1 cup onion, chopped
- 1⁄2 cup celery, chopped
- 1⁄2 cup carrot, chopped
- 1⁄4 cup parsley
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1⁄4 cup butter
- 1⁄4 cup flour
- 1 tablespoon ground mustard
- 1⁄8 teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup ham, chopped
- 2 1⁄2 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups milk
- 3⁄4 lb cheddar cheese
directions
- In a large saucepan over medium heat; saute onion, celery, carrots, parsley and garlic in butter for 5 minutes.
- Stir in flour, ground mustard, and pepper.
- Add ham and cook for 1 minute stirring constantly.
- Gradually add broth and milk; bring to a boil.
- Cook and stir for 2 minutes.
- Stir in cheese; reduce heat.
- Cook and stir till cheese is melted.
- DO NOT BOIL.
