Ham Steaks With Home Made Southwest Barbecue Sauce

ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 7 ounces ginger ale
- 1⁄4 cup ketchup
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄8 teaspoon chili powder
- 1⁄8 teaspoon pepper
- 4 cloves, whole
- 2 lbs ham steaks
directions
- In a saucepan, saute onion in butter until onion browns.
- Stir frequently, to prevent burning.
- Stir in soda, ketchup, mustard, salt, chili powder. pepper, and cloves.
- Heat to boiling, reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes.
- Fish out cloves, and discard.
- Brush sauce over both sides of steaks as they heat.
