  1. My family really enjoyed this dish!Wonderful comfort food! The recipe doesn't really say how thin or thick to slice the potatoes, so I sliced them thin. I used casserole shredded cheese, not slices. It also doesn't say if you should cover it or not. I left off the top layer of cheese and covered it with tinfoil and baked for 1 hour in a 13x9 glass dish. (I sprayed the pan first with pam) Then I sprinkled thin layer of cheese on top and baked for another 30 minutes without the tinfoil cover. The cheese was just starting to get brown. It was perfect! I plan to make this again and again! Thanks so much for posting it. This recipe is great because you generally have all the ingredients on hand! *****update***** shared this recipe with my sister inlaw and it has become a favorite at her house too! I also had one more thing to say about this recipe. Its made in a 9x13 pan. There is no way 4 people can eat all this food in one sitting. So the calories and nutrition is way off!

  2. I used 3 cans of CANNED SLICED potatoes because I only had one russet left in the house. I also subbed turkey breakfast sausage for the ground beef. I only baked for 35 minutes as the canned potatoes are already cooked and this really made this a quick meal...fan-freaking-tastic! Apparently you can't mess this one up! Thank you Nanna!

  3. This recipe is delicous, inexpensive, and easy to make. I used shredded cheddar cheese instead of sliced cheese. My husband likes this dish so well he asks me to make it often. We have company coming from out of town this month and this is one of the dishes i plan on serving. Thank you for sharing this delicous way to perk up boring hamburger.

  4. You were right this was "Delish". Easy to prepare and great taste. You didn't say what kind of pan to use so I used a 2 qt. baking dish and you also didn't say to cover or not. I baked it uncovered for 1 hour and it was done. The cheese was staring to get a bit brown. I used Velvetta and I salt and peppered the potatoes before putting on the meat. Thanks for the great recipe. I will be making it alot from now on.

Hi my name is Nancy, I moved here to England on the 19th of September of 2002. I came here to marry my new hubby! :) I truly love living here, but I miss my family really bad :( I have one daughter and two wonderful grand-kids. We are going to America in Novemeber of this year to be with my family for Thanksgiving and Christmas!I can't wait to see everyone again! My new hubby will be going to America for the first time and he is very excited to get there and meet his new family! :) I really don't have a favorite cook book, but I am in the process of compiling one from this wonderful web site! I can't wait to get it finished,so I will have one to pull out when I need to find one of your GREAT recipes! I guess one of my passions is cooking. I love to cook all kinds of food and I also love to bake, which is a good thing, because my hubby has a real sweet tooth! LOL! We both are Chocolate hounds,so needless to say I do a lot of baked goods with chocolate in them! If I had a month off from work,or I should say a month off from housework!LOL! I guess i would like to go to either Spain or to Holland, I have always wanted to go to Holland in the springtime to see the tulips in bloom. Now that I think about I also would like to go to the south of France and check out some of the food there! Well, I can't think of anything else to say about me,so I will say Happy Cooking to Everyone! :D
