  1. My family rated the taste at between 3 and 3 1/2 stars, but with the ease of preparation and the low cost, I bumped it up to a 4. And it's one of those recipes you can make in a hurry, probably with ingredients you already have on hand.

  2. I substituted canned black beans and got excellent results. I needed something quick and easy, and this sure fit the bill!

  3. It is absolutely easy to make. I added cajun seasoning to the meat. I should have added something else to the mash potatoes because they definitely can be bland.

  4. We rated it with four stars because of the easy recipe to follow. If just rating on taste it would be a three star, like one other reveiwer had mentioned it was a little bland for us. I did add some minced garlic to the potatoes for some added flavor as i used instant potatoes this time, next time i will use real mashed potatoes and i will doctor it up to suit our tastes. But overall it is a great idea for a recipe and i'm glad i found this as it is something that I always have ingredients on hand.Thank you Mary!

  5. This sounded easy, but a little bland for my taste buds. I doubled the recipe added a can of chopped tomatoes, 2 tsp chili powder, small can chopped green chilis, salt pepper and garlic. Turned out like Chili pie.
