Hamburger Soup

ingredients
- 1 1⁄2 lbs ground beef
- 3 -4 celery ribs
- 1 medium onion
- 3 -4 medium potatoes (peeled)
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon pepper
- 1⁄4 teaspoon allspice
- 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can tomatoes (crushed)
directions
- Brown meat and onion.
- Dice vegetables and add to meat along with tomatoes in a soup pot.
- Add remaining seasonings.
- Add 3 cans of water.
- Boil for 2 hours.
- Add more water as needed.
- When soup is done, use potato masher to mash soup to a nice thick consistency.

I made this soup for my 1 year old twins. The ingredient list looked good and had a very low sodium content. However, this soup tasted off and bland to me. One of the twins wouldn't eat more than a few spoonfuls, but the other enjoyed it. I thought it was pretty bland. Next time I make it, I will add lots of garlic and more spices to kick it up. Thanks for posting, this recipe is nice & easy. I look forward to trying it again with a few modifications.
