"I got this recipe from a friend years ago but never tried it until recently. What a waste of time. I've tweaked it a little and I love it!! Don't know why it's called Hawaiian but it sure is good. Servings are approximate - it makes a bunch."

  • 1 lb butter
  • 34 cup sugar
  • 1 12 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne
  • 8 ounces Wheat Chex
  • 8 ounces Corn Chex
  • 8 ounces Rice Chex
  • 10 ounces Cheerios toasted oat cereal
  • 10 ounces small pretzels
  • 1 lb mixed nuts

  • Melt and simmer butter, sugar and spices until sugar dissolves.
  • Pour over the rest of the ingredients and bake at 225 degrees for one hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
