We love this bread! The 1st time I made it, I didn't pay attention to the 2-1/2 lb loaf, yea! what a mess, I thought it looked like a lot of yeast for 3c of flour but I haven't had this machine long, anyway it was great, as we were pulling pieces off the edges it reminded me of crescent rolls (flaky) I didn't use instant potatoes because I don't have that product but other than that I went by the recipe almost. lol I used buttermilk and added approx 1 tbls flour to sub for potatoes. I have a loaf cooling as we speak that I cooked in the oven on parchment paper and a pizza stone 400 for 21 min. OMG! I couldn't wait any longer, it is light, fluffy and delish! I would not add any extra flour to this recipe, the more flour, the heavier the bread, I had rather pour it out than dig it out. No it is not that sweet but I usually cut back on the sugar anyway and if you ask me it's better than what you buy. Thank you for sharing this bread with the world! God Bless You!

I can't even believe how close to the original this bread is. My entire family LOVES it. I've made it in the bread machine twice . . . the second time I had better luck by 3/4 the recipe (my machine holds 2 pound loafs and this is over 2 pounds as written). Also, I use orange juice instead of lemon extract and liquid milk - and reduce the water accordingly. I baked on light white setting, it will likely burn on sweet bread. I didn't make any change to the amount of flour used, it was just fine. Thank you SO much for the fantastic recipe!!

This bread was a hit! I substituted warmed pineapple juice for the milk, and didn't put in the potato flakes or lemon extract, because I didn't have any. When the dough cycle on my machine was finished, I put it in the microwave with a cup of water I'd heated for 1 minute to proof for 1 hour. Then I baked it at 375 covered in foil. It was wonderful. Bravo!

"Mom, this tastes like real bread!" my son said. The first time I made it I made two changes: I used one cup of milk instead of the water and powdered milk, and I used half all-purpose and half bread flour. I did not add any additional flour. I have also made this as written, and it did need some additional flour. Both versions are good, but I prefer this with AP as it is slightly denser. My husband thinks this bread would make good stuffing.

I am a teacher that likes to cook - sometimes. Right now I teach 8th grade English. I have three children: Kyndal 17, Spenser 15, and Sophie who will be 4 in October. We live in Waco, TX and like it. It is just the right size for us - not too big, but big enough to have lots of things to do.

<br>I like to cook when I am 'in the mood'and don't have a lot of other things to do. Before Sophie was born I did a lot of cooking ahead. Something that I am way behind on now.
