  1. Combine the margarine and sugars in a large bowl and beat with an electric mixer until smooth.
  2. Add the egg and vanilla and beat until combined.
  3. Add the soda, salt, and flour, beating until the flour is combined.
  4. Stir in the chocolate chips with a mixing spoon.
  5. Drop the dough 1 tsp at a time onto an ungreased baking sheet.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees 10-15 minutes, or until the cookies are just browned.
  7. Remove from the sheet to cool.
