If you want to make it healthier, substitute dried cranberries or raisins for teh chocolate chips. Splenda can be substituted for the white sugar.”

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°.
  2. Beat the sugars and butter until light and fluffy. Add orange juice, corn syrup, egg, vanilla extract, and butter flavor; beat well.
  3. In a separate bowl combine flour, flax, wheat germ, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the oats and chocolate chips.
  4. Add to sugar mixture; stir until well-blended.
  5. Drop by tablespoons onto baking sheets coated with cooking spray. Press 3-5 pecan/walnut pieces onto the tops of each cookie if desired.
  6. Bake at 375° for 8 minutes or until almost set. Cool on a wire rack.
