Healthy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies (A.k.a. Meag's Perfect Cookie)

"I created this recipe with my daughter after a conversation with my sister, Meagan, about her idea of a perfect oatmeal cookie. This is a cookie you can feel good about giving your kids. They are very moist and fluffy and taste even better the days after being baked. These are very adaptable so feel free to substitute chocolate chips and a bit of lemon zest for the raisins or add some cranberries and sliced almonds for some added fun!"

  1. very good! I used 1/2 cup swerve and 1/2 cup brown sugar but stuck to the recipe for the rest. The cookies were chewy and delicious, if I make them again I'll just bake them for 14 minutes to get the edges a little crispy

  2. So Delicious!!!!! I did make some changes. This basically became a game of what do I have in my kitchen. I only had 1/4 cup of butter so I substituted the rest with applesauce. I only had 1.5 cups of rolled oats so I substituted 1/2 cup of quick oats. I only had 1/2 cup of brown sugar so I added 1/2 cup of pure maple syrup. I also only had sultanas. These cookies turned out amazing! Moist and tasty! I will definitely be making this again.

  3. very yummy! I love recipes w flax. so good for you! the only thing I changed was switching the measurments so less butter, more applesauce and half sugar half agave nectar. thank you for sharing your recipe!

  4. Yum, yum, yum! These are addicting and not so bad for you! Very moist. I did not have any flax seed meal, but they still turned out great. Thanks for such a great recipe!

  5. Thank you delicious and now far less guilty of a treat. i used light margarine, plum sauce for the apple. whole rye for the whole wheat. I halved the brown sugar and subbed in sweet n low. the dough texture was a little dry, so they didnt' spread. the baked as shape dropped. i'm sure due to my not perfect measuring. great taste.

PLEASE RATE MY RECIPES!! :) My husband and I have been happily married for six years and we have two amazing children! I stay home with our son and daughter and stay busy in with local mom's groups and activities. I am a certified childbirth educator (bradleybirth.com) and also teach and supervise the Aqua Aerobic department at one of our local gyms. I am somewhat of a health nut/hippee and distribute whole food suppliments (morganlovesjuiceplus.com), but I love to bake and to share my baked goods. There is no better compliment than when some one takes a bite of my very own Chocolate Chip Cookies and says they are the best they've ever tasted! (Sorry, it's a secret recipe!) I would love to open my own bakery someday... I like to cook for my family too, and have become exceptionally motivated since our son was born. I have been finding myself getting swept away reading cookbooks (while the kids are sleeping). :) I am really enjoying trying new recipes (and so is my husband) and I think I am becomming a "Foodie" so Recipezaar is simply heaven for me! | <a href="http://www.facebook.com/business/dashboard/" title="Miracles in the Making Childbirth Education and Support!" target="_TOP" style="font-family: "lucida grande",tahoma,verdana,arial,sans-serif; font-size: 11px; font-variant: normal; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal; color: #3B5998; text-decoration: none;">Miracles in the Making Childbirth Education and Support
