“This is the meal that Heidi and her Grandfather used to eat. It's the perfect dinner for a campfire. If you don't want to use a campfire or fireplace to make the meal, you can gently microwave and scrape the cheese too, or use any method you want. The raclette HAS to be in a hunk for this to work. Make sure to use a 2 pronged fork or your raclette will spin and /or fall off. Conversation and deep thoughts accompany this meal well.”

Ingredients Nutrition

  1. Get your fire going. You want a nice glow, not shooting flames.
  2. Core and slice apples.
  3. Slice bread into slabs.
  4. Pierce cheese with a long handled fork, such as the one you use for barbequing.
  5. Hold cheese over the flames, close enough so it gets soft on the outside, but not so close as to burn it.
  6. As the cheese softens on the edges, scrape those edges off with your hunting knife (other kinds of knives will work too) and serve on the bread and apple slices.
