  1. Dee-licious, NurseDi. A great way to prepare round steak. The combination of flavors in the sauce is really a palate pleaser. I did take Chef Parsley72's advice and added garlic and thyme. Also, I substituted oregano for the basil and added about 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce to the soup, wine and herbs. Served this with mashed potatoes and peas. I'll definitely be making this again. Thank you for sharing!

  2. Great way to prepare round steaks! I thought it just needed a little something extra, so I added some garlic and thyme and that did the trick. (I almost gave it 4 stars cuz of that, but just the fact that it has me preparing/eating round steak again bumped it up!) Gotta love fresh onions and mushrooms together! They came out so nice and tender; you could cut them with a fork and my 18-month-old had no trouble chewing it. I've always steered away from buying round steaks because they usally are tough and dry. Also, I don't like them with tomato sauce-based sauces. This recipe fit the bill for me. I can now buy round steak again. Thanks for sharing!

  3. Very easy to put together! I subsituted a few shallots for the onion because I had to use them up and I used chardonnay instead of the beef broth - leftover wine, who would've thunk? I served this on top of cooked pasta (bow tie shapes). Anyway, I will definitely be making this again during the cold weather. Nice comfort food for this time of year! Thank you for sharing this recipe.
