Hillbilly Hot Dogs

"My grandparents were originally from West Virginia and hillbilly hotdogs are always eaten at family reunions and family events during the summer even though most of the family lives in northern Indiana now. I personally like a sweet chili and a peppery coleslaw."

  1. These were common in NC, I thought it sounded odd but they are so yummy! The sweet and savory, cool coleslaw and spicy chili is a great combination.

  2. This is my favorite way to eat a hot dog and the chili and coleslaw go together so well. I eat quite a bit of these during hot summers in Georgia. Thank you Queen Dana for sharing a classic.

I love trying new dishes. For me, food is a way of experiencing the world without leaving my home, and I'm hoping that as my two sons get older that I can convince them to come with me on my culinary adventures.
