Questions & Replies

  1. How many calories are in a biscuit made with shotening fluor and milk

  2. 2 cups, 12 servings. They must be small. No wonder the nutrition numbers are so out of whack.

  1. These are wonderful. I am southern and am embarassed to say that every time I have ever tried to make buscuits they came out like little rocks. They could have easily been considered lethal weapons. Thank you so much for posting. Very easy and very good.

  2. These biscuits were very good, cheap and easy. I followed the recipe exactly and turned out good. I made the biscuits about 3 inches in diameter and about 1/2 inch thick. I was able to get about 9 biscuits.

  3. I just made these biscuits and they were great!! I used butter flavor crisco in them and they were light and fluffy...also browned really nice. This is my new biscuit recipe!!

  4. Amazing biscuits. I like mine a bit browner than they should be but other than that, I followed the recipe exactly as written. Will definitely be making it again very soon!

  5. I have tried to make biscuits for 35 years and these are the best mine ever turned out. I did add 1/2 teas. yeast and they were very light and very tastey.

Tweaks

  1. I have never made biscuits before.....heck, I have a hard enough time making JIFFY corn muffins....LOL. I recently purchased some sausage patties and wanted to have sausage and gravy over biscuits, so I said let me give it a shot. I followed the recipe and instead of using shortening, I used 4 tbsp of margarine per cup of flour. When adding the milk, I made sure that the batter was pretty wet. I kneeded the dough with my hands, not using a rolling pin, (as what alot of other recipes required) careful not to over knead. I baked until a toothpick came out clean and I must say that these biscuits taste like they were southern made. "Thank You" for this recipe, cant wait to go through the website and see what else there is.....)(

  2. I have finally found the perfect biscuits! I also didn't have any shortening in the kitchen so I used butter instead and tried buttermilk in place of milk. They came out excellent! There aren't enough words in the English language to describe how good they are! Even my husband is impressed and he's even more picky than those Iron Chef and Iron Chef America judges!!!

  3. very easy to make. I substituted buttermilk for the milk. Very tender and flaky

NOT MY meatloaf but .... My husbands. He is as good a cook as I am,He can cook anything I can cook, and I can cook anything he can cook, but some things I make better, and some He makes better...So we do a lot of compromising at our house.
