Homemade Breakfast Cereal

"Breakfast cereals are so expensive, I wanted to see if I could make my own. This is a variation of a recipe I found in a book called "More-with-less Cookbook". I've made granola before but this recipe is a little different. I haven't decided yet if I love it - just posting it here to check on the nutritional information."

  • Mix all ingredients well. Spread on a baking sheet and toast in 350 degree oven for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally until browned.

I am a stay at home mom of a beautiful baby girl. I simply love looking for new recipes - I especially enjoy testing them! My favorite cook book is Betty Crocker (of course!). I love it because it tells me how to cook all those basic things that I should remember but usually don't - like how long to boil an egg or what temperature to cook a roast. I also own a few old community cookbooks that were my grandmothers - they contain wonderful back to basics recipes. Right now, I would like to buy the "More With Less" and "Extending the Table" cookbooks because I am interested in the idea of eating lower on the food chain.
