After four hours of relentless and sleepless night hacking, despite cold medicine and a quarter sleeping pill, I was about to take my husband to the hospital. At 2am I mixed this up (with all fresh ingredients and quality honey) and he was just delirious enough to accept my, "witch medicine." 10 minutes, and no coughing later, he feel gently asleep to mumbles of, "your spicy honey fixed me...." Slept through the night soundly and he even asked to bottle up a "potion" and take it to work the next morning. Awesome. (I also skipped the water, added extra apple cider vinegar and honey, used minced ginger, and blended it all with an electric wand. Might add a clove of garlic next time. Medicine is not sup. to taste good.)

I was sceptical about trying this, but really hating to go to the doctor and being desperate for some medicine, I decided to give it a try. This cough medicine is amazing! Every time I coughed, I would take a tablespoon of the medicine, and within 3 days, the cough was gone. Later, I made some for my aunt who was sick. Same results...within a few days the cough was gone. Thanks for posting a great recipe and saving me mega bucks that I would have spent for medicine at the pharmacy!

This stuff not only works for cough but fever pain and all kinds of other stuff. I now drink it daily with 2 teaspoons of ACV and 16oz water, one to 3 times per day. Earthclinic has alot more information if you are interested in home remedies with ACV=apple cider vinegar. Thank you Daphne for another ACV recipe.
