- 1 (15 ounce) can garbanzo beans (drained, rinsed)
- 1 medium garlic clove, pressed (about 1 teaspoon worth)
- 1⁄4 cup tahini
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1⁄4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1⁄4 cup water
directions
- Place all ingredients in a food processor and process until well combined and smooth - about 45 seconds.
- Place in a resealable container and refrigerate until cold. Hummus is good for 2-3 days.

This is a wonderful hummus recipe and takes to some additions without any problems. I added a bit more olive oil, 1 tsp Chalupa hot sauce, a bit more salt and generous grinding of black pepper and 1/2 tsp cumin to the basic recipe. Drizzled some more olive oil on surface before serving. Delicious eating! Thank you mewack for posting this recipe.
