  1. Excellent dressing! I used red wine vinegar and added 1/4 t cayenne pepper to add a little zing. We really loved this and it is a lot cheaper than buying off the shelf. Thanks Darlene.

  2. You've got my vote, as well!! Definitely a 5-star winner! Very easy to mix up and has a delightful taste. So nice to have GOOD Italian on hand. Thanks a million for posting, Darlene. Laudee C.

  3. This is the best homemade Italian dressing I have tried to date, mainly becuase the ingredients do not "separate" as quickly as other recipes. I omitted the salt (doctor told me I have to cut back on sodium) and I added 2 tsp. of very finely minced fresh red peppers. My first use for this dressing was to use it to make Marianne's Marinated Vegetables (recipe ID# 21606)

  4. Liked this very much. Used raspberry wine vinegar. I also added a dash of pepper. Will use this often.

  5. I made two versions of this, one with red wine vinegar and one with white wine vinegar. Both are excellent and used often by my family. Fresh tasting and very zesty. Thanks Darlene, for a great recipe.

Tweaks

  1. Excellent dressing!! I used freeze dried Italian seasoning instead of Oregano and Paprika. It had a wonderful fresh flavor. I will definately be adding this to my favorites. Goodbye bottle dressing!!!!

  2. I needed an Italian dressing for our subs one night and decided to try this one. I'm so glad I did!! We loved it! Since it was a spur-of-the-moment thing I had to used what I had on hand. I used red wine vinegar, half olive oil & half canola oil and garlic powder instead of the garlic clove. It turned out well and really complimented the ham, salami, pepperoni, provolone cheese, tomatoes and lettuce I used on the subs. Thanks so much for such a lovely recipe!

  3. This is wonderful! I didn't have 2 hours to wait for it to blend, but used it anyway. I used my Pampered Chef Italian Seasoning in place of the oregano. This is so quick and easy that I will not be buying store bought again!

I love to cook,in fact you could call it my favorite hobby My pet peeve is telemarketers,Every time I get busy with my recipe hobby one of them will call and knock me off the web,and of coarse I waste precious time getting back on.I am disabled,so I no longer work, and have plenty of time to pursue my hobby. NOT MY meatloaf but .... My husbands. He is as good a cook as I am,He can cook anything I can cook, and I can cook anything he can cook, but some things I make better, and some He makes better...So we do a lot of compromising at our house.
