Homemade Rolls

"These are super easy and always a huge hit. You can make more small dinner roles or larger for sandwich buns. Be sure to flour your hands when shaping the rolls so they don't stick to you."

  1. These rolls were good... but be warned, the quantity given makes 12 dinner rolls, not 12 bread rolls! I waited forever for them to get bigger! Also in my opinion they are WAY too sweet, I'd probably cut almost all the sugar out and put in just a teaspoon. They were really soft on the outside, and I prefer a crunchy roll, so I think I'll keep looking for another recipe. Thanks!

  2. Excellent rolls!! I don't have a bread machine so I just added the same amount of dried yeast and 1 teaspoon of the sugar to the cup of water (which was lukewarm). After the yeast mixture was nice and frothy I added it to the other ingredients (in my stand mixer). I did reduce the entire amount of sugar to 2 tablespoons. I mixed on a medium-low speed for 8 minutes and then covered the bowl and let rise for 50 minutes. I then punched down and shaped the rolls, letting them rise for another 30 minutes. I brushed the top of the rolls with cold water and sprinkled with sesame seeds and baked at 190C for 14 minutes. I was really happy with the look and the taste of these rolls and will definitely make them again. Thanks so much for the recipe!
