Homemade Spaghetti Sauce

  • Add all above ingredients except tomato paste and Prego, bring to boil.
  • After the sauce is brought to boil, add tomato paste and Prego and cook until thickened.
  • Fill quart jars and process in boiling water bath for 15 minutes.

  1. Did not and won't try this one...what is the point of "homemade sauce" if u have to add store bought sauce.
     
  2. didnt like the fact it called for prego, and without the prego its awfully bland.
     
  3. This was easy to make as I ran the tomatoes through my Kitchenaid Mixer to get the peels and seeds off. I put the extra sauce in the freezer as I just did not feel like canning tonight. Thanks for sharing
     
  4. Homemade spaghetti sauce should NOT contain a jar/can of Prego! Homemade, from what I was taught, means from scratch!

Grandma to a ton of kids and a step great grandma and still going strong. Love to cook, came to Wisconsin from Illinois 33 years ago and bought a resort and cooked 2 meals a day for about 20-40 people. Served American style. Loved it course I was younger then but sure did meet quite a few wonderful people and most were repeaters every year.
