  1. Cream sugar and shortening, add eggs and blend well.
  2. Sift dry ingredients together.
  3. Mix applesauce and raisins.
  4. Add dry ingredients alternately with the applesauce to the sugar and shortening mixture.
  5. Pour into 9x13 inch greased and floured pan. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes or until done.
  6. Sprinkle 1/2 tsp cinnamon and 1/4 cup sugar over batter instead of frosting.
