"Everyone LOVES this chili when I make it! It is sweet and goes well with things other than hot dogs. We sometimes have it with fritos, cheese and sour cream. Simple to make with minimal ingredients!"

  • 2 -3 lbs ground beef (browned and drained)
  • 1 (2 ounce) envelope onion soup mix (such as Lipton Onion soup mix)
  • 1 -3 tablespoon brown sugar (to taste)
  • 1 (36 ounce) bottle ketchup (the whole bottle or to taste)
  • 2 teaspoons mustard (or to taste)
  • 1 onion, minced (large to medium)
  • 14 - 12 cup water (depending on how thick you like your chili)

  • Brown ground beef with minced onion; drain.
  • In a medium sized cooker add ketchup, onion soup mix, brown sugar, mustard and water.
  • Add ground beef and onion to mixture.
  • Simmer on low heat for 2 to 3 hours.
  • Serve on hot dogs or with corn chips, cheese and sour cream.
  • Enjoy!
