Ingredients Nutrition

  • 14 cup butter
  • 1 12 unsweetened chocolate squares, shaved or broken up
  • 14 cup cocoa
  • 34 cup sugar
  • 14 cup table cream
  • 18 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

  1. Melt the butter and chocolate over low heat in a heavy saucepan, stirring until smooth.
  2. Stir in cocoa, sugar, cream and salt and then bring slowly to boil. My mom always said do not stir, but to dissolve the sugar I've found using a whisk works fine.
  3. Remove from heat and blend in vanilla.
  4. Serve warm.
  5. May be reheated very slowly.
