  • clean and debeard mussels.
  • cook mussels on hickory bbq until open.
  • discard any unopened mussels.
  • set aside cooked mussels.
  • heat oil in saute pan.
  • add onion and garlic to oil until golden.
  • add lemongrass, fish sauce, water, salt and chile peppers.
  • simmer for 5 minutes.
  • add mussels and basil to mix.
  • stir until hot and serve.
