  • Coat beef cubes with flour. Add olive oil to skillet and brown beef cubes with onion and garlic.
  • Transfer to a slow cooker and add remaining ingredients except sour cream. Stir well, cover and cook on low for 7-10 hours.
  • Add sour cream 30 minutes before serving. Serve over hot noodles or rice.

  1. I made this recipe today to put on rice or noodles for lunch next week. Well, the savory scent filled my apartment with such a rich, delicious smell that I couldn't wait and had to try it tonight. It surpassed my expectations.

  2. This was good, I added some extra chopped tomato and worcestshire sauce but still I think should have tasted more zingy. I toasted some bread crumbs and put on top because that's what my mom used to do, which I think adds a lot to it! Thanks!

  3. I served this over rice tonight. My picky son even wanted some more. I did not brown the meat in a skillet and added 2 cloves of garlic. I also turned my crockpot on high and it was done in 4 hours. Thank you for posting. I made this for the Spring PAC 2007 game

  4. I usually change a little something about a recipe when I make it, but this one was "perfecto" as is! This is one of those that smells so good cooking you can't stand to wait! I served it over egg noodles, and my family asked when can I make this again!

  5. Delicious and easy, what else ccould you ask for? I used veal cubes like my grandfather did when I was a kid, (no crockpot back then!)and the meat was so tender! The flavor brought me back to days spent watching my grandparents whip it up in their "old country" way. I'll be making this again real soon...THANKS!
