Impossible Cheeseburger Pie

"I'm not sure where I found this recipe, but it's not the exact one from Bisquick. (Different measurements, etc.) It' really good and easy. I don't top with tomatoes, but that's all a matter of whether you like them or not. Prep time estimated."

  1. I made this a few weeks ago, I changed it just a bit by adding some chili powder, cayenne and hot pepper flakes to the ground beef. I also added extra cheese to the Bisquick mixture.I really enjoyed it and so did picky new boyfriend. I loved the tomatoes cooked on top but he did not. Next time I will just put them on half. Thanks for sharing.

  2. This was okay, I've been looking for different meals to make and I came across this, seemed quick and simple, it was good, not sure if I'll be making it again, but it was different.

  3. I'm sooooooo glad you posted this recipe. When my kids were younger we had this all the time. I doubled the recipe so we would have leftovers. I used ground turkey and seasoned with lots of garlic, cajun seasoning, and cumin. I also added cheese to the beef mixture once cooled. DS so enjoyed a childhood memory.

  5. I made this recipe for my family and some friends. It went over very well with everyone; most having seconds. I made the following changes: I used 2lbs ground chuck, 12oz pkg frozen chopped onions and 2 teaspoons of mccormick's montreal chicken seasoning in place of the salt and pepper. I doubled the bisquick batter, but really only used about 2/3's of it. Before adding the batter, I topped the beef mixture with 1 well drained 14.5oz can of petite diced tomatoes and 2 cups of sharp cheddar cheese. I then topped with the batter. After cooking at 400 degrees for 30 mins I added another cup of sharp cheddar on top and baked for another 10 mins. This is definitely a recipe I will make again.

  2. Instead of ground beef, I used a package of veggie ground round, and softened the onions with about a TBSP of water in the microwave. We like BBQ sauce on our cheeseburgers, so I added about 3 TBSP of that and a sprinkling of garlic powder to the meat mixture. I used the lower fat Bisquick, but am looking forward to trying this recipe with some home made mix, using a recipe from this site. This was a really easy dinner, enjoyed by all at the table.
