  • 3 -4 crisp apples, peeled and cut into 1/2-inch dice (macintosh, granny smith, etc.)
  • lemon juice

  • Cook the apple pieces gently for a few minutes, stirring often, until slightly cooked but still “al dente.” They will disintegrate slightly but there should still be some semi-solid pieces.
  • Add lemon juice to taste. Remove from heat and serve warm.
  • Ingrid prepared this with no other ingredients, but you could add a little cardamom, pumpkin pie spice, etc.
