"Everyone's favourite purple smiley sticker in Stories is now a CAKE! Upgrade your Valentine's cake into this piped purple cutie! You will need a large heart-shaped cake pan, I used an 8 inch one. Fill the cake pan 2/3 full; any leftover batter can be used to make extra cupcakes for snacking! "

For the cake
use Magnolia Bakery's Vanilla Birthday Cake and Frosting for the cake
For the buttercream
2 cups unsalted butter, at room temperature
4 cups icing sugar
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
¹⁄₄ teaspoon purple gel food coloring

directions

While the cake is cooling, make the buttercream. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the butter, sugar and vanilla extract on high speed until light and fluffy and doubled in volume, about three minutes. Add the purple gel food colouring and mix until combined.
