I made a single serving of this in the microwave today, but I am not going to rate it because I changed it quite a bit. I used 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1 cup milk, 1/4 cup applesauce, a dash of cinnamon, and about a tablespoon of brown sugar. I mashed half a banana to mix into the oatmeal and cut the other half in slices to put on top. I really enjoyed it, and I really like how the applesauce helps all the other flavors blend together. I think the concept would work well with other fruits too, or even multiple fruits in the same oatmeal. Thanks!

I tried this today and it wasn't bad. I used a banana and half raisins and half Craisins, and overall, the taste was pretty good. The only issue I had was that the texture of the oatmeal was very watery, more like a soup than oatmeal. Also, the flavor of the applesauce (I used unsweetened) was a little too strong for my taste. A good idea, but I don't think I will be trying it again. Thank you for posting it, though!

Sometimes it's a mistake not to eat breakfast in the morning. Today it wasn't. This recipe posted about an hour ago to the site. I had every ingredient availabe here in the office except for the banana, which I quickly zipped out to the corner grocery and bought some. The only change I made was to use soy milk instead of the water. The oatmeal was creamy and delicious, and the applesauce and fruit gave it a wonderful sweetness and texture. So quick and easy to make, so yummy too!
