Ingredients Nutrition

  • 12 cup whipping cream
  • 1 23 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 4 ounces milk chocolate, broken into squares
  • 4 tablespoons Irish whiskey or 4 tablespoons brandy
  • whipped cream (for topping)
  • chocolate curls (to decorate)

Directions

  1. Whip the cream in a bowl until it is thick enough to hold its shape.
  2. Put the milk into a saucepan and whisk in the cocoa powder.
  3. Add the chocolate squares and heat gently, stirring, until the chocolate has melted.
  4. Bring the chocolate milk to the boil.
  5. Remove pan from heat and add the whipped cream and whiskey or brandy.
  6. Stir gently for 1 minute to blend well.
  7. Pour quickly into 3 heatproof mugs or glasses and top each serving with a generous spoonful of whipped cream.
  8. Decorate with chocolate curls and serve at once.
