Irish Coffee from the Buena Vista San Francisco

"The Buena Vista on Fisherman's Wharf serves as many as 2,000 of these famous Irish Coffees each day. It's a great way to warm up on a foggy day by the bay; however, after a few of these, you may be feeling a little foggy yourself. The major difference from other Irish Coffee recipes here is the use of sugar cubes."

  2. Love this Irish Coffee! It's the exact recipe and technique from the BV. I use Bushmill's but the BV uses Tullamore Dew in their Irish Coffee. Thanks, FLKeysJen! <br/>http://www.thebuenavista.com/irishcoffee.html http://www.thebuenavista.com/record.html<br/><br/>

  3. I love Irish Coffee and this lovely recipe is no exception. Yum, strong coffee, good whiskey, sugar and the topping glory, whipped cream. It was a perfect treat on a busy afterfoon. So quick and easy to make, it could be really bad, tooo easy to make. Thanks for sharing your recipe. Made for the Fearless Red Dragons - ZWT8 - Great Britian

  4. This brought back some enjoyable memories...years ago on a business trip we all went out for coffee...it was a quick trip...lol...from Oakland to San Francisco...we ended up at Buena Vista...I had to purchase the whiskey and glass (tourist) set...of course the whiskey is gone...but I still have the two little glasses...by the way this recipe filled up both of those glasses...and it sure is yummy...really warms your tummy...thanks for posting it...:)

  5. Decandant, delicious and a very naughty mid-afternoon boozy beverage! I used Bushmills Irish Whiskey and had to use whipped cream, but I spooned it on, to try and achieve the float look! I enjoyed reading about the happy memories you have associated with this coffee Jen, and managed to hunt out a San Francisco map for one of my photo props! I'm sorry but my cream began to drop in the photos, but the taste was silky and smooth - just great! Made for Photo Tag - and VERY much enjoyed! Thanks! FT:-)
