  • Brown ground chuck and onion in soup kettle until meat is no longer pink and is broken up good.
  • Add the remaining ingredients.
  • Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer about 45 minutes until vegetables are tender.
  • Serve with crackers or Irish bread.

  1. This is a great stew! The only problem I had with it was that it really didn't make 8 servings. I would say 6 was the absolute maximum. Our family of 4 ate it all up just like that! So it was very good! I also used stew meat instead of ground chuck. I liked the big quantities of celery and frozen peas, which gave a nice green touch for St. Patrick's Day.
