Italian Chicken Drumsticks

"This is a recipe from the Today Show. I think that it aired on 9/30/08 and it is Gidas (from Food TV) recipe. This version calls for drumsticks, but I am sure that it would be good on chicken wings as well. It is very easy and yummy!"

directions

  • Place the first 6 items into a ziplock bag and mix well. Place the drumsticks in the bag and mix it all up again. Place in the Fridge for 2 hours. After two hours, preheat the oven to 450 degrees. While oven is preheating, place foil on a baking sheet and then place the drumsticks on top of the foil and place in the oven. Save the left over marinade. Bake the drumsticks for 30 minutes. While the drumsticks are baking, take the marinade and place it in a pot on the stove. Simmer the marinade until it has reduced and thickened (will probably take as long as the chicken takes to cook). Once the drumsticks come out of the oven, baste them with the reduced marinade. Garnish with the sesame seeds and the fresh parsley. Enjoy!

  1. This was delicious! I did the marinade as directed, but 450°F for 30 minutes seemed like too much to me. I cooked them at 350°F instead. They were nice and juicy!

  2. This was really good! I used the full tablespoon of rosemary, it seemed like a bit too much, I used dried, maybe this is supposed to be fresh? I will definitely be making this again, will try it with fresh rosemary. Thanks for posting such a tasty, easy recipe!

  3. I used red wine vinegar as well. Also, I threw all the ingredients with frozen chicken drumsticks in the crockpot for 4 hours. It was fantastic!

  4. My family LOVED this and can't give it enough stars. I used boneless thighs but made exactly as directed and it was awesome. Loved the blend of flavors with the sweet glaze that really set this off. Add to that - it was so simple to make, couldn't ask for a better meal. We served with recipe#299976 and a good red wine. Wonderful dinner that I'll be making often.

  5. Good recipe. Easy to make. I substituted red wine vinegar for balsamic because I was out, but it still tasted good.
