"This pasta recipe goes with my daughter's Classic Alfredo Sauce. It's such a treat to have fresh homemade pasta. We have fun making this pasta when time permits."

directions

  • Stir the flours and salt in a large bowl and make a well.
  • Break an egg into the well and work it into the flour with your hands. Add 1 egg at a time and continue to mix.
  • Add the oil and just enough water so that the dough becomes moist enough to hold together (start with 2 tbsps and add remaining in 1 tsp portions).
  • Knead the dough for 10 minutes. Form into a ball and place it in a plastic bag and let it rest for 1 hour.
  • Roll the dough and cut into strips or shapes. Dredge or sprinkle with flour.
  • Bring a large quantity of water to boil. Add 1 tsp oil to prevent the pasta from sticking together. Add the pasta and cook, partially covered until tender (8-10 minutes).
  • Drain through a colander or strainer and serve immediately.

RECIPE SUBMITTED BY

I am happily married for 18 years with 3 teenagers. I only work part-time because I spend lots of time at home cooking and baking healthy meals for my family including my grand-mother's homemade bread recipe. I make it the old fashioned way (with a bit of elbow grease) rather than a bread maker. The recipe makes 5 loaves and lasts me about a week. My family loves coming home on a bread making day - the house smells so yummy. I try to buy organic ingredients as much as possible. I stay away from all artificial sweeteners and low-fat items. My motto is to have a nice snack of 2 wonderful tasting high fat cookies than eating half a box of low fat tasteless cookies. My passion besides baking is homeopathy. I keep my family healthy with homepathic remedies when we are sick. My medicine cabinet has no precription medications or over the counter drugs. We have been antibiotic free since I was introduced to homeopathy about 5 years ago. It is really a gift from God.
