  1. I just finished making these and they are still warm. My daughter and her boyfriend just finished sampling them and say that they are better than the butter tarts I get from the bakery. Big plus, it's a nice easy recipe.

  2. Love em

  3. These were good, but not what I was looking for. I normally make regular butter tarts and I thought to make things easier this Xmas I'd make squares. I really didn't care for the oatmeal, as I've never had butter tarts with oatmeal before. The filling taste didn't come through because of the oatmeal, I believe. Anyways, still a nice recipe and tx for posting. WELL, I'm re-reviewing this as I had a lot of flack over the Xmas holidays for the 3 star review. Everyone who ate these absolutely loved them and looked for more on the plate. What can I say???

  4. Another recipe I made during the Christmas holidays. I'd never even heard of butter tarts before, but the pic made them look SO good I wanted to try. They were not a disappointment! the only change I made was to use pecans, as I didn't have any walnuts; plus I just like pecans better. These were really good and easy...will make again I'm sure!

  5. I was going to post this recipe but found this one that is almost the same. Have been making these for years and we love them and to top it off they are soo much easier than the "tart" buttertarts. These have just the same taste and are just as delicious!! -- there is a slight difference in my reacipe, I do not use oatmeal in mine I use 1/4 cup all purpose flour and 3/4 teaspoon baking powder with more raisins, 1 1/2 cups, other than that it is the same and is very good, there are so many recipes for these bars in 'zaar, I didn't see the point in adding another, so put my photos and review on this one; one of the oldest posted. posted Nov 28, 2004
