  1. In large bowl, cream together shortening and brown sugar.
  2. Beat in egg and vanilla.
  3. In another bowl, combine oats, flour, coffee, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice; mix thoroughly.
  4. Stir into creamed mixture.
  5. Stir in raisins and pecans.
  6. Shape dough into balls about 2 inches in diameter.
  7. Place about 3 inches apart on greased baking sheets.
  8. Flatten each to 1/2 inch thickness.
  9. Bake in 350 degrees oven for 12 to 14 minutes or until golden brown (do not over bake). Let cool a few minutes on baking sheets, then remove to rack to cool completely.
  10. (May be wrapped airtight and stored up to 2 days or frozen).
