  1. woo-hoo!!! this was great! what a blast from the past. my kids thought that is was so cool to catch it separate into layers. Extra ephasis on "poor slowly into glasses" (Do not stop between the glasses to answer the phone!) Be careful that the water isn't too hot, or your blender will blow its top. I acutally wound up using my Braun Hand Blender. What a treat!

  2. This recipe separated perfectly - and I did find powdered egg whites (or Meringue Powder) at WalMart in their wedding cake decorations isle for $4.50. But there is too much water I think. The jell-o part did not set up very well, and it tasted weak and too diluted. I will cut the water in half. 1 cup of boiling - 1 cup of ice water next time. Other on-line recipes call for 1/2 of the water this recipe called for, so I will follow that lead. I blended for the exact amout of time called for, and the jell-o was not grainy -- so it dissolved well. I actually ended up with Jell-o 1 2 3 4 -- mine had an extra thin creamy layer on the bottom of the glasses as well as the top. It is very fun-- I used it to illustrate the atmosphere's layers to 6th graders.

  4. Hey!!!!!! It worked!!!!!!! How much fun can one person have? I had a hard time keeping the grandchildren out of the fridge, they didn't want to miss a thing. FYI for those that need it, I found my powdered egg whites at Wal-Mart in the arts and crafts baking section

  5. I live near the jello plant and know people who worked there. This is basically what they told me to do to replicate the original
