ingredients

1 cup sugar
¹⁄₂ cup shortening
1 cup molasses
¹⁄₂ cup water
4 cups flour
1 ¹⁄₂ teaspoons salt
1 ¹⁄₂ teaspoons ginger
1 teaspoon baking soda
¹⁄₂ teaspoon clove
¹⁄₂ teaspoon nutmeg
¹⁄₄ teaspoon allspice
sugar

directions

Mix sugar , shortening and molasses add all the rest. Refrigerate 2 hours.
Roll 1/4 inch thick and cut with 3 inch circle cookie cutter. Place on cookie sheet and sprinkle each cookie with sugar. Bake 10-12 minutes in 375 degree oven.

The way you put a recipe together is as important or more important then the ingredients sometimes. That is especially true for Joe Froggers. This one misses the mark in a few ways, but keep on trucking you will get it maybe.
