  1. I tried this because it seemed interesting, but it wasn't really to our liking. The recipe doesn't say what size of tomato sauce; I used two 15 ounce cans.

  2. A good quick meal, and will be great for those busy weeknights. Would probably be good thrown in the crockpot, too. I used Italian Dressing mix #63812 (no MSG) and 2 15-oz. cans of tomato sauce. Everyone enjoyed this, but it is very salty, and I'd suggest using no salt added tomato sauce and possibly even decreasing the amount of salt in a homemade Italian seasoning mix. Thanks for sharing your recipe!

  3. I had REALLY high hopes for this recipe, but it is missing something I can't quite put my finger on. I thought it tasted MUCH better after it had sat for a day and the flavors had a chance to meld. We served this over spaghetti and had garlic bread with it. I dunno...I guess maybe I am just more of a traditional girl when it comes to sausages with a smoky flavor.

  4. I loved the flavor of this sauce and it was obviously easy to put together. I used two 8 ounce cans of sauce and half of the sausage, otherwise I followed it exactly. Thanks!

  5. We were really impressed with the flavor of this simple pasta dish. The recipe didn't state which size can of tomato sauce was required. I used a 15 ounce can of sauce and a 15 ounce can of petite diced tomatoes with garlic and olive oil. I also subbed a sweet yellow onion for the red. When it came time to add the seasoning packet, I discovered that I was out. I quickly mixed up a batch of Recipe #63812 Italian Dressing Seasoning Dry Mix to add to the sauce. I tossed this sauce with some penne pasta and served it with garlic bread and a salad. Even with my last minute subs, this was an easy meal for a tired weeknight. The great flavor makes it a winner.
