Knackwurst Skillet

"Cabbage, an important garden crop in Atlantic Canada, shines in this hearty main course, which is equally effective when made with kielbasa. Caraway seeds not only add their distinctive flavour, but also help to cut the gasses caused by cruciferous veggies."

  1. This made a great dinner and leftovers were perfect for lunch later in the week. I used a chicken sausage and russet potato. I do think I would like to make it again using the sweet potato. I did toss in a red bell pepper for extra color. I loved the combination of flavors and the ease in preparation.

  2. Well, Downeast Maine is pretty darned close to Atlantic Canada, so I guess it's appropriate that I should be the first to post a review! I made this recipe using turkey kielbasa (a healthy but also tasty option) and red onion (what I had on hand). What a nice combination of flavors! Really liked the sweetness of the sweet potato against the tartness of the mustard and the earthy flavor of the carraway seeds. And pretty quick and easy to fix as well. Will definitely make this again, especially since the DH liked it too. Thanks!

  3. We made this just as directed no changes. This dish is going on my delicious list. It is full of flavor with the caraway and apples. Has texture from the cabbage and sweet potatoes. Winner winner.
