Knoth's Barbeque Sauce

"This barbeque sauce comes from a restaurant in Western Kentucky. Pop used to bring over barbeque every time he came. We loved it, but didn't like it as well once the sauce was all gone."

  • Combine 4 cups sugar, catsup, mustard, red pepper, black pepper, water, salt, Crisco, butter and enough vinegar to make 1 gallon.
  • Mix well, cook slowly for one hour, stirring while cooking.
  • Add corn starch.
  • Add 1/2 cup sugar at last.
