  • Cream together butter and sugar, then add the beaten eggs, flour, cream of tartar and salt.
  • Dissolve the baking soda in the milk and beat this into the batter.
  • Finally add the lemon juice and currants.
  • Pour into a greased pan and bake at 325 degrees for about 20 - 30 minutes.
