- 14 August 07- A couple of gals have asked me about ratios for this. It's entirely up to you. Some lavender is stronger than others and some people like a stronger flavour than others, so you just have to experiment and find what you like. Start with about 1T. per cup of sugar and go from there. Charlis.

The smell is so inviting, I have made Vanilla sugar before and never thought of Lavender sugar. I also put some lavender in powdered sugar and plan on making icing #65210 if I can ever find rose water. I made a special basket of Lavender fudge#172465, with Lavender shortbread #100640, , Lavender jelly #101138 a print out of the recipes and some chamomile tea for a special birthday gift last month. I have gone Lavender, I plan to make more things with lavender, I am hooked.

I retired 3 years ago and finally have a chance to cook. I was an Operating Room nurse, on call most of the time, and had given up trying to cook since I was usually interrupted somewhere along in the process. Since I've retired, I moved to Lake County in Northern California (aka heaven) and have access to all sorts of incredible produce, plus I'm slowly getting a garden going.
I have an RV and used to be out and about in it a fair amount, but I love where I live, and am turning into a real hermit, just spending my time reading, knitting, crocheting, cooking, cruising the web (especially the 'zaar, as I call it) for recipes, and playing with my cats.
