Ingredients Nutrition

  • 4 12 teaspoons butter, melted
  • 18 teaspoon salt
  • 18 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cups cubed rye bread
  • 1 (6 ounce) packageready-to-serve salad greens
  • 2 cups chopped pastrami
  • 1 large tomatoes, diced
  • 12 cup sauerkraut, rinsed and well drained
  • 14 cup thinly sliced green onion
  • 1 (8 ounce) bottle thousand island dressing
  • 34 cup shredded swiss cheese

Directions

  1. Make the croutons tossing the bread cubes in the butter and salt & pepper. Toss to coat well then arrange in a single layer on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400° for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool.
  2. In a large salad bowl layer half of the salad greens, pastrami, tomato, sauerkraut, onions and dressing. Repeat these layers. Sprinkle with croutons and Swiss cheese.
