  • In a pot of boiling salted water, par cook potatoes.
  • When potatoes are nearly cooked, add diced weiners and sliced cabbage.
  • Cook until cabbage is done (about 5 minutes).
  • Serve hot with butter.

  1. I wish we had more then 5 stars! This ended up being one of my husbands favorites! I did two things differently though, added some diced onion and 1 stick of butter to the pot when I started cooking the potatoes. Drained in a colander when done. It was soooo good. thanks!
     
  2. Tried this last night, as I had 1/2 head of cabbage leftover from something else. It was definately a hit! Good, plain old comfort food, as it reminded me of something my grandmother would have made. DH loved it and took the leftovers to his workers who gobbled it up in seconds and said it was great!
     
  3. I have not made this so this is a comment not a rating, but my mother used to make a very similar dish with the only difference being she used fresh string beans in place of the cabbage. She used salt, pepper and a bit of garlic powder, no butter.
