Lemon Loaf

1 Loaf
ingredients
- 1 1⁄2 cups flour
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 1⁄2 cup milk
- rind of one lemon

For glaze
- 1 1⁄4 cups white sugar
- juice of one lemon
directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (325 for glass loaf dish).
- Cream sugar, butter, eggs and milk.
- Sift in dry ingredients.
- Add lemon rind.
- Bake for approximately one hour.
- GLAZE DIRECTIONS.
- Mix well. Warm in oven for a few minutes after removing loaf.
- Spoon over loaf while still warm but cooling on cake rack. (After approximately 10-15 minutes of cooling.).
