  1. Soften butter.
  2. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  3. Grease and flour 9 by 13 baking dish.
  4. Cream 1/2 cup butter, 1 1/2 cups sugar, and the eggs.
  5. Add milk and 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon extract.
  6. Sift in 3 cups flour, baking powder, and salt.
  7. Mix well.
  8. Spread in baking dish.
  9. Combine 1/2 cup butter, 3/4 cup sugar, 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon extract, and 1 cup flour.
  10. Sprinkle over top of batter in baking dish.
  11. Bake for 20-30 minutes.
