directions

  • Place ingredients in the order given in bread machine bucket.
  • Process on basic/white cycle, medium color crust setting.
  • I use warm (tepid) water and the rapid (3 hr) setting.
  • You can use 1 1/2 teaspoons yeast, but I've found that 2 teaspoons produces a fluffier loaf.

  1. Is this bread dense?

  2. Well, maybe I can just substitute the water to milk, will that work?

  3. can i use 3 cups of whole wheat bread flour instead of 2+1 ? Thanks :)

  1. Love this! I used 2 tsp. yeast and 2 tbs. butter and put it in my bread machine on dough cycle. I kneaded it slightly to remove air bubbles then let it rise for 30 to 45 minutes in a warm area then baked in the oven. (Which is how I do most of my breads) at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour. I have made it several times!! My family eats it up quickly!

  2. Very light and good. Not heavy like some other bread recipes. Thanks!

  3. This is now my #1 wheat bread recipe. The bread was light and flavorful. I used 2 teaspoons of the yeast, the result was great. Next time I will bake it in the oven instead of leaving it in the machine, my husband hates those holes in the bottom of the loaf! Thank you for a terrific recipe.

  4. This is the lightest wheat bread I've made. It comes out with a wheat type texture, but a white-bread type density. I enjoyed it! I used the 1.5 lb setting on my bread machine, but ended up needing the 2lb setting to get all of the necessary kneading and bake time in.

  5. my new go to bread , light, easy to cut and I add dried chives and dried onions yummy

I hate to bake (almost as much as I hate to vacuum!), and I'll go to great lengths to avoid having to make cookies.
